The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County (OSUACMC) held its full membership Annual Meeting & Recognition Event Thursday, August 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the VFW Post 1058 in Zanesville. This event featured recognition of the 2024 club scholarship recipients (10 entering freshmen and 9 current OSU students) and their families, presentation of the alumni club’s Annual Awards, updates on the activities and finances of the past year, plans for the year ahead, and approval of board members and officers for the 2024-25 club year. An outstanding turnout of 77 persons were in attendance, including eleven of the scholarship recipients and their guests, plus 41 alumni club members.
Dr. Douglas Myers, MD and Brenda Larrick of WHIZ Radio-TV were presented with the 2024 Annual Awards from The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County (OSUACMC). Dr. Myers was chosen for the OSUACMC Outstanding Alumnus Award, presented to a graduate of The Ohio State University from Muskingum County who has exhibited distinguished leadership, service and support in the community and to Ohio State and its alumni organizations. Brenda Larrick was chosen for the Outstanding Friend of OSUACMC Award, presented to an individual from Muskingum County who has exhibited distinguished service and support for The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County and its events and projects, and in the community through schools, churches, or charitable organizations.
A raffle was conducted for all club members in attendance for the right to purchase the club’s football tickets for six of the home games. The names drawn were as follows: Jeff Moore (Akron 8/31); BJ Smith (W Mich 9/7); Irv Bell (Iowa 10/5); Sue Bell (Nebraska 10/26); Bo Coconis (Purdue 11/9); and Nikki Slack (TTUN 11/30).
