Douglas Myers was a 1976 graduate of Tri-Valley High School in Muskingum County. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from The Ohio State University in 1980 and completed his Doctor of Medicine Degree at Ohio State in 1984. His family practice residency was conducted at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus 1984-87. He opened a private practice medical office in Zanesville in 1987 and continues to practice family medicine in Zanesville today. Dr. Myers is married to Martha, and they have two daughters and five grandchildren.
Dr. Doug Myers has been involved in numerous organizations over the years and has been an active participant in a wide variety of community service activities. He has been a member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association since 1980 and a member of The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County (OSUACMC) since its inception in 1988. Doug was selected to become a member of the Board of Governors of the local alumni club in 1990 and he served on the board for 34 years. His leadership and wisdom as a board member have contributed to the success of numerous club events and projects for many years, especially the scholarship auctions, game watches, the 2nd & 7 books projects, and Walk with a Buckeye Doc. Doug has now resigned from the OSUACMC Board of Governors because he and his wife have relocated outside of Muskingum County.
Although Brenda Larrick is an Ohio University Bobcat graduate, we shouldn’t hold that against her, because she happily supports the scarlet and gray. Brenda began working at WHIZ Radio in March 2000 and quickly became a Buckeye fan, as AM1240 is an affiliate of the Ohio State football and basketball radio network. Brenda has been a fixture of local morning radio for several years and has worked extremely hard at WHIZ, where she currently serves as the Program Director of Radio Properties for Marquee Broadcasting. She continues to enjoy daily opportunities to inform, educate, and entertain through media. Brenda greatly enjoys getting involved in the community and has helped support numerous organizations over the years, including Leukemia & Lymphoma Light the Night, March of Dimes, American Heart Association, and Walk to End Alzheimer’s. She regularly features non-profit organizations during her radio broadcasts, such as the Animal Shelter Society, The Carr Center, Eastside Community Ministry, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, The Muskingum County Community Foundation, and of course, The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County (OSUACMC). If there is an opportunity to help support our community, Brenda is always willing to participate. One of her favorite things about being committed to community events is that she has influenced her family to often get involved too.
Brenda Larrick has been a tremendous friend of OSUACMC, offering not only plugs on the radio to promote events and projects, but also significant airtime for conversation and detailed information regarding the alumni club and its role in the Zanesville-Muskingum County community and in Buckeye Nation. She has made contacts with other media personnel and resources to assist with successful publicity for club activities. Whether it be a scholarship auction or fund-raising campaign, a Buckeye Game Day watch party, or a Buckeyes Give community service project, OSUACMC can always count on Brenda to be on our team.
