The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County will hold its 17^th Annual Scholarship Auction on Tuesday, May 10, at the VFW Post 1058, 1318 Putnam Avenue in Zanesville.  The event will include both live and silent auctions for a variety of sports memorabilia and other valuable merchandise donated by area businesses, organizations, and individuals, and will also feature former Ohio State and NFL Wide Receiver ROY HALL as the guest speaker of the evening.  Hall is the co-founder and President of the Driven Foundation, which provides educational programs and support services to underserved Central Ohio communities and surrounding cities.  Driven has been especially active in combatting hunger and has provided hundreds of thousands of meals to needy families for the past several years.  Roy is also a regular guest analyst on WBNS 10 TV’s Wall to Wall Sports.  

Prior to Hall’s remarks, the club will honor the recipients of its annual awards, the OSUACMC Outstanding Alumnus Award and the Outstanding Friend of OSUACMC Award.  These awards were established in 2012 to recognize individuals who have provided significant contribution and support to the causes of the local alumni group, as well as to The Ohio State University and/or The OSU Alumni Association.

The scholarship auction is open to the public, with all proceeds to benefit the Scholarship Fund of OSUACMC, a non-profit organization that provides numerous scholarships each year for deserving Muskingum County students enrolling at any of the campuses of The Ohio State University. 

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with silent auction items up for bid until 6:45 p.m.  The presentation of the club’s annual awards will occur at 6:15 p.m., followed by Roy Hall at 6:45 and the live auction at 7:30 p.m.  A dinner buffet and a variety of snacks will be served throughout the evening and a cash bar will be available. 

Tickets for the event are $20 per person or $175 for a corporate table of 8 seats and may be obtained at Tom’s Print Shop (710 Main Street, Zanesville/740-452-7100), from club board members, or at the door the day of the event.
