The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County held its 16th Annual Scholarship Auction on April 16, 2015 at the VFW Post 1058, 1318 Putnam Avenue in Zanesville. The event included both live and silent auctions for a variety of sports memorabilia and other valuable merchandise donated by area businesses, organizations, and individuals, and also featured former Ohio State All-American Defensive Lineman and NFL Linebacker MATT FINKES as the guest speaker of the evening. Finkes is currently the Associate Director of Development for the OSU Wexner Medical Center and a member of the broadcast media on The Buckeye Football Fever on WSYX Channel 6/WTTE Fox 28 in Columbus, as well as the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel.
Prior to Finkes’ remarks, the club honored IRV BELL as the recipient of its OSUACMC Outstanding Alumnus Award and LINDA TATE of Applebee’s as the recipient of the Outstanding Friend of OSUACMC Award. These awards were established in 2012 to recognize individuals who have provided significant contribution and support to the causes of the local alumni group, as well as to The Ohio State University and/or The OSU Alumni Association.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Scholarship Fund of OSUACMC, a non-profit organization that provides numerous scholarships each year for deserving Muskingum County students enrolling at the campuses of The Ohio State University.
